The NFL Television ratings are still trending up. Last year it looked like the NFL ratings were trending down. There were huge stories about the decline in the NFL numbers. They were saying what is wrong with the NFL? How the league was in trouble. They were unaware of their audience and the people were starting to abandon the NFL. It was the beginning of the end for the NFL.
This talk has all changed withe the 2018 NFL season. The numbers over all this year are up across all the different television viewing slots. How ever the biggest indicator is that in the month of September the top 15 shows for the month are all NFL Games.
What this would indicate that even if the numbers are down. The top shows were all NFL games. That makes the NFL still the ratings juggernaut that is has been for decades. These numbers do not take into account the alternate ways that people are watching games. Numbers that show how many people are streaming the games are not easy to find. It is a good bet that those numbers will steadily rise and will continue to for quite some time. They are available in many different ways in the internet. Even just measuring the traditional ways of watching the game the numbers are up around 3 percent.
What affects the NFL Television Ratings
NFL Television Ratings are affected by many different things. It is interesting that the NFL has made many different moves. That would seem to make those numbers go down. People are complaining about the amount of penalties in games. They are complaining about they types of penalties that are being called. Replay is a huge contentious point some all for replay others saying it is ruining the game.
What the NFL Television Ratings show is that it really does not matter. I am sure you have heard the term that there is no such thing as bad publicity. All exposure is a good thing. For the NFL this continues to be true. It does not matter what they do people are going to watch anyway.
