NFL Draft 2019 Version Is Here – Finally.  The build up to the draft is a long and winding road.  We will see what doors it leads to.  The are so many Mock Drafts out there.  So many that make no sense at all.  Many that try to make sense.  While they can get a bit tiresome.  I still pay attention to them.  It is interesting to see what people are thinking and projecting what teams will do.

I hear different things about what people think teams are going to do.   People saying that Arizona does not know what they are going to do with the first pick in the draft.  If that is true they they need a new team running their draft.  I am pretty sure that Arizona knew what they were going to do with the first pick in the draft quite a while ago.  They just don’t want you and other teams to know what they are going to do.    Of course the reason for that is unless you are 100 percent sure that the player you are going to take it the difference maker for the next ten years.  Then every position is for sale.  I am still pretty sure that the Cardinals are planning to take Kyler Murray with the first pick.  If another team decides that they want Murray and offer some crazy combination of draft picks to get the first pick.  It is entirely possible that Arizona makes that trade.

The Draft has become a made for TV event.  I don’t have a problem with that.  Sports is entertainment after all.  So finding new ways ti entertain us is a good thing.   Putting it on ABC and showing feel good stories is an attempt to get more of the fringe and casual fans to participate in the draft.  For me I have no interst in that.  Since the draft moved to prime time I usually do not watch it anymore.  I keep track of the picks and have it on a tablet with no sound while we are watching something else.   When the draft was held Saturday and Sunday I used to watch the whole thing.

So what is going to happen tonight in the NFL Draft?  There will be picks there will be trades.  Some of the picks will be a surprise.  Others will go exactly as people thought.  What we can be sure of is that fifty percent of the picks in the first round will probably not work out. That is just how difficult it is to evaluate the players and the pick the correct player for a team and a situation.
