Four picks four right. Wow! I was sure of my picks but I was also sure that one of them would fail me.
For the third week in a row the number one team in the country goes down. I thought all season that Oklahoma was living dangerously. Missouri showed that they were a team that could be in the mix for the national championship with a 36 -27 win over the Sooners. Missouri said don’t forget about us. I still think that if the Big 10 was smart they would invite Missouri to join the Big 10. Who knows they may. Missouri is not going to be a power every year but they will compete enough years to make it interesting and they would be a good fit.
Nebraska showed that they can turn around from a bad showing and still play like a team on a mission. With a 51 – 41 win over Oklahoma State Nebraska puts themselves on course to play in the final Big 12 championship game. Next week they play Missouri. Which ever team wins that one will be in a good place to more than likely win the Big 12.
LSU’s luck ran out with their 24 – 17 loss to Auburn. Newton made a huge point to be the front runner for the best player in College Football. Auburn will roll along till the final regular season game against Alabama. It seems that who ever wins that one could be playing for a National Championship.
In the most exciting game of my picks Wisconsin beat Iowa 31 – 30. In a game that was just a knock down brawl Wisconsin showed that it was not a fluke that they beat Ohio State last week. The road for Iowa does not get any easier having to play Michigan State next week and then Ohio State November 20th. On the bright side for the Hawkeyes they get both at home but that did not help them much against Wisconsin.
With this weeks games I now stand at 11 – 4 for the season pick of games with two ranked teams. I am feeling pretty good about my picks so far. Saying that there is still a lot of time to end up with a losing record.
