Everyone has a bad week right? After two weeks ago with an undefeated week in my picks this week looked like it was going to be a totally defeated week. Stanford showed up for me though to prevent that from happening.
TCU at Utah – TCU showed up and Utah forgot that they were playing for their BCS life. TCU came out fast and scored early and often. TCU was impressive going into Utah scoring 20 points in the first quarter. 0 – 1
Baylor at Oklahoma State – Baylor looked like they were going to come in to Oklahoma State to play but decided to stay in Texas. Oklahoma State 55 Baylor 28. 0 – 2
Arkansas at South Carolina – Ryan Mallett had a great game and Arkansas demolished South Carolina 41 – 20. It really was not that close. South Carolina scored 10 points late in the game to get a little closer but showed that they are not ready for prime time. 0 – 3
Alabama at LSU – In the closest game of my picks LSU showed that they are more than just lucky to have the record they do. They kept Alabama in check and assured that there would be no repeat champion this year. Even though I got this one wrong I am not too upset about it. Final LSU 24 Alabama 21. 0 – 4
Arizona at Stanford – Stanford gives me the lone win of the day beating Arizona 42 – 17. If Stanford had played this way against Oregon we would be talking about them as a BCS Champion contender rather than Oregon. 1 – 4
At 13 wins and 9 losses I still have a respectable record in my picks. If I have another week like this though then it won’t look so nice. Two things got cleared up for us today. Alabama is out and so is Utah.
