College Football Picks Ranked Teams 11-19-2011

It was  a rough week for the picks last week.  Did anyone get the number of that truck that hit us last week?

In the first game Stanford decided that they were just going to be declared the winner of each game this year and forgot that Oregon had an explosive offense and a defense that was more than capable to stop someone.  Final score Oregon 53 Stanford 30.  Picks for the week 0 – 1

In the second game we were pulled from the wreckage by Nebraska.  In a game that was much closer that was anticipated Penn St. was able to make it close. Final score Nebraska 17 Penn St. 14.  Picks for the week 1-1

In the third game Auburn packed it in and said that they had no interest in playing anymore and got rolled by Georgia.  Final score Georgia 45 Auburn 7.  Picks for the week 1 – 2

Last weeks picks dropped our record to 23 – 8.  A few more weeks like that and the big lead we built up over the start of the season will be gone.

In the first game this week we have (5) Oklahoma at (22) Baylor – Oklahoma now has everything to play for.  After Oklahoma St. Lost in an amazing game against Iowa St. this game puts Oklahoma in a good position.  A win here and then a win against Oklahoma St. Could give Oklahoma the chance to get back into the BCS Championship game with a loss by Alabama or LSU.  In this game style points will make a big difference.   Oklahoma knows that not only do they need to win this game but they need to win this game big.   I just don’t see how Baylor is going to be able to stand the barrage that Oklahoma has the ability to throw at some teams.  Oklahoma is going to come out fast and strong.  Final score Oklahoma 45 Baylor 17

In the second game we have (13) Kansas St at (23) Texas –  in a normal year I would say that Kansas St. has no chance in this game being played  in Austin, TX.  This has not been a normal year and Kansas St. has a lot to play for this year.  Even though they played themselves out of a chance to get into a BCS bowl game this year they still have something to prove.  Texas is not back up to the level they were at a few years ago and Kansas St. is going to come in and show that they should not have been listed as an underdog in this game.  It is going to be close but in the end the final score will be Kansas St. 28 Texas 24

In the third game we have (16) Nebraska at (18) Michigan – this is a  tough one.  These teams are pretty evenly matched.   This will come down to who will be able to make a big play on defense and will Denard Robinson be able to go.  After his hand injury Michigan did not lose a step in their win last week.  This week it could be different.  In the days of old you would have thought defense first in this game this time it is going to be about the offense.  Michigan’s defense has improved quite a bit over last year.  It will be hard for Nebraska to keep the focus they has last week after a very emotional game against Penn St.  Final score Michigan 38 Nebraska 27

We really hope to avoid a big car wreck this week.
